When we fence someone out, we also fence out all the gifts, talents, and unique personalities that add to the richness of life. Society is poorer for shutting out parts of our human family.

Let me bring this down to an individual level: we are the atoms and molecules that make up human society; we individually are the poorer for fencing anyone out.
