Faraway Mountains

8×8” Acrylic paint & brushes with acrylic markers on canvas panel

I like the hint of a lake in the background, with the river flowing out from it. I can just imagine the lake scene around the bend. There’s something about that that just draws me in.

A little change in technique here: I began with acrylic paints and brushes, and finished with acrylic markers. I’m going to try a few more like this, and see if I like the results as much as I like the way this one turned out.

You know, I used to be an editorial cartoonist, thinking I could contribute a little to a change in the world through politics. But that ended up just adding negativity to the zeitgeist. And so I quit that because it felt icky.

Then I wanted to make a positive difference through religion and ministry, and I found out that worked even less well.

So now I’m just painting things that feel good and that I like to look at. And hopefully others will too. And that’s now my way of contributing positive vibes to the world. I can’t change things out there, but I can make pretty things that can bring some solace and a bit of joy to people.

But of course I reserve the right to be a little more direct and blunt with my feelings with my paintings.

Do you like it? If you do, imagine what fun it would be having this original artwork delivered right to your door (like where else would it get delivered?).

If you do like this painting, please share – because it really helps!

All work is for sale, Pay What You Want. Seriously. I don’t believe that original art should be available only to those with deep pockets. Not every art lover has deep pockets. So just tell me what price works for you. (You pay the shipping, though.😊)
