The heavenly bodies are dancing with glee, and the tree is reaching up to join them in dance while the dancing’s good! (Moonrise doesn’t last that long, y’know.)

Nothing deep here today (unless it’s the lake), just a pretty little place to go in my mind. Maybe yours too?

Front and center, exploding with possibilities, unlike any star I’ve ever seen tonight or any other night. First star I’ve ever truly seen, I mean seen with the inner vision that just blows your mind when it happens. So I guess when they say to follow your star this is what they’re talking about.
Either that or the circus is in town, I don’t know.

Did the tree steal the moon? Or maybe the moon’s hiding in the tree?
Or maybe it’s an illusion, a metaphor made visible. The tree and the moon, from two different worlds in a safe comfortable embrace.
Peace, out.

If you live (or have visited) one of those picturesque places where they still have brick roads, you know how pretty they are. And how bumpy they are compared to a modern asphalt or concrete paved highway.
But brick and cobblestone roads are infinitely better than the dirt — and often, mud — roads that preceded them.
Things don’t have to be perfect. They just need to be a bit better. And then a bit better again. Which is how we got from taming fire aeons ago to 5G networks. Roads — brick, mud or footpaths, lead into the future.
Or maybe there’s no deeper meaning here, and it’s just a pretty country lane.

Leaving the loving embrace of family to move out and make its own way in the world? A seed falling to perhaps grow a new tree of love? If so, a joyful painting, full of hope. Or… well, let’s not dwell on sadness, though it may be so in this case. Either way, an opportunity for growth, I think. But it’s what it says to you, after all.

This really is the way I understand the world. Little discrete packets of energy which make up everything, both material and immaterial. Colorful, bright, alive in a million ways we don’t normally think of as alive. Thoughts and things part of the same continuum.
I’ll leave it to you to interpret the image. That’s not my job. My job is to get the image down so that if it speaks to you, you can feel what it says to your spirit. Notice I said feel what it says. Not intellectualize, although that’s fine if you want, but my art seems to be more about feeling. Pre-thought if you will.
Make sense?
Let me know what you think.

As Above, So Below Acrylic, 8″x8″Night Blooms Acrylic, 8″x8″Night Rose Acrylic 6″x6″
I’m trying to catch up here, so I’ve posted three images to start with. Which are completely different than my more recent art. The thing is, I’ve wanted to really make a difference with my art, which is why I created the Everyday Saints and Animal Saints series.
But. I lost the joy along the way, and it was starting to feel like a chore, a job… not the wonderful fun creative experience of creating art that I missed. My painting didn’t spark joy to use a Marie Kondo term, so I threw it out. Well, not literally. I still have the paintings.
But I decided that life’s too short, so screw it. I’m going to have fun painting. And this is what flowed out. And keeps flowing. So much so that I’m having trouble breaking away to do anything else, including posting these.
I’ll talk more about the technique and how I came about it in future posts, but for now I just wanted to get started catching up with sharing these.
They’re small, affordable, and perfect for small or intimate spaces. The 8″x8″ paintings are $128.00 and the 6″x6″ one is $96. Free Priority Mail shipping in the USA.
OK, only the actual fox is small, not the others, especially the humpback whale. But the paintings themselves are small. They’re basically studies I did before the larger 25″ square finished pieces.
The whale is oil on canvas, 10″ x 10″. The others are acrylic on wood, 8″ x 8″ ready to hang as shown with no framing necessary.
So I’m done for now on saints paintings, whether animals or humans. Maybe I’ll get back to them later, who knows? But for now, I’m having the most fun painting that I’ve had in many years. I’ve made some modifications to the pointillist technique I painted in years ago, and it’s really working out well. I’ve done a bunch of small ones over the last week or two and they are bright, happy, and super colorful. I’ll start posting them soon.
Oh, and of course the small animal studies are available at very attractive prices!
The reason for the spectacular leaping behavior of humpback whales is supposedly unknown. Let me take a wild guess: it’s just fun for them, and they love it.
Let’s not complicate things too much. They’re animals like us, and animals (not just girls) just want to have fun.
