I posted this before when I was thinking of the war in Ukraine. But with recent events in the middle east I wanted to repost it since it very much applies there as well.

I was thinking of the war in Ukraine as I was painting this. It didn’t start out that way, though. Originally there was going to be a suburban house in the background, yes the heart pierced with an arrow, but more of a lovers apart theme. But as I painted, this is what it wanted to be.
