The third in the series of song title inspired paintings, and the second with a Beatles inspired title.
It almost looks kind of musical, doesn’t it?
Of course, I don’t mean to imply that the fool on the hill and any pharaoh might have anything in common, but I guess there might have been a pharaoh or two who fit that description. Law of averages among humans, I suppose.
Any thoughts on further Beatles inspired titles that could be adapted to this series?
Magical Pharaoh Tour (or Pharaoh Mystery Tour perhaps)? Pharaoh Lane? Here Comes the Pharaoh? While My Pharaoh Gently Weeps? Strawberry Pharaohs Forever? Pharaoh’s Lonely Hearts Club Band? Norwegian Pharaoh?
Well, you get the idea. Doesn’t have to be Beatles (the next painting isn’t) but if something strikes your fancy, let me know in the comments.

“…in the jungle, the mighty jungle”
My wife said it should be “in the desert” if it’s a pharaoh — but I pointed out that it’s a jungle in the painting. Then she said well then it’s a Central American pyramid. But it’s definitely an Egyptian pyramid. Not at all like the Central American ones.
Of course the desert was once lush and tropical, so either I’m conflating two different times or this is revisionist archaeology.
Or something…
It’s just a painting. Give me a break.

The seasons have begun to turn all around, but on the island it’s eternal summer.
That island lives somewhere in my head, but I sometimes lose my way and need to find it all over again. The trick of course, is to not focus on the seasons turning all around. The colder harsher seasons may seem real — but as long as the island exists, are they really?
Things are changing, and they’re changing fast and they’re changing massively. Things are not going to continue as they always have.
Of course, the only thing constant is change. Which isn’t necessarily bad, since stasis is death. But too rapid change can also be death. What will be swept away? Will it be a cleansing or destruction?
All I know is it’s coming.

There’s a little good in the worst of us, a little bad in the best of us. Or substitute whatever opposite traits you want.
There’s so much depth to the Yin/Yang metaphor, I’m still exploring it. People, things, situations, relationships, are seldom if ever all one thing or another. The Yin/Yang metaphor simplifies things to get the important point across, but in reality there is a multitude of Yin/Yang dynamic that would be a very busy painting indeed if I were to try to depict even a small bit of it.
An incredibly interconnected multidimensional network of Yin/Yang. The web that forms the Universe is complex beyond understanding, but we can understand that it is. And that’s gotta be helpful.
We exist within nature, symbolized by the green vegetation and clouds, and within a sparkling Universe of spirit/energy.
The blue at the center of the neck is the core of spirit/energy that forms our center, that keeps us balanced, that keeps us connected to what matters.

A little of thee in me, and a little of me in thee. And from the union, new life springs. Not necessarily a physical child, but a new dynamic, a relationship.
Oh, and this isn’t just about romantic love. Or just love between humans. This is about all forms of love across the Universe. Between thoughts and ideas, all beings, so-called inanimate things? It really depends on your understanding of reality how far you can take this.
I seem to be on a bit of a yin/yang theme lately. A couple more exploring this path coming soon.

I thought it looked like the flame was being fed from the fuel reservoir in the heart. It was a little harder to come up with a title for this one than most. I think it works though.
This piece of reclaimed wood shows its scars a little more than most. There are some vertical gouges in the cloud shape at the top, towards the middle. They’re hard to see on the computer image, more noticeable on the original, but still subtle.
We all carry our scars, but that doesn’t stop the love light shining from our hearts, does it? Well, ideally anyway.
By the way, the imperfections in the slab of wood don’t affect the integrity of the paint layers or the archival stability of the piece in any way. Kind of the same for us, if you know what I mean.
This artwork is available for just $136.00. The sides are attractively painted black and you can hang it immediately with the attached paracord.

Of course before the blooms arrive in the future they exist now in potential, or in thought. Everything that is, was not at one time, but the thought or the potential necessarily preceded it.
This is my second large(ish) dot painting to date. I have a bunch of canvases this size, but I’ll probably continue doing the smaller ones mostly, with a few like this thrown in now and then.
Funny, I used to paint on much larger canvases, but now I’m liking the small sizes better. Of course with dots, bigger = more time. Maybe I’m just getting impatient in my old age, but the small 6″x6″ and slightly bigger ones are very satisfying because I don’t have to wait so long to see what the finished product looks like!
This artwork is available for just $200.00. The sides are attractively painted black so you can hang it immediately until you get it framed.
